ondon-based designer Ruth Tomlinson has
earned a sterling reputation for creating
handcrafted, slightly unconventional fine
jewelry that feels organic and somewhat
rustic (yet always luxurious). Offering
engagement rings and wedding bands, as well as a collection of fine jewelry and bespoke styles, the independent designer has honed a signature look that’s all her
own, each piece like a found treasure.

Your jewelry has such a distinctive look—what’s
the story behind your singular aesthetic?
I very much respond to the materials I’m working
with. My inspirations come from nature and historical
jewels—this is an aesthetic I developed during my
studies at the Royal College of Art in London, and it
runs throughout my collections. Subtle asymmetry,
gentle textures, serendipitous imperfections, and tiny
granular intricacies all define my designs.
